We discuss the top 500 companies in the world, ranked based on financial data announced in the stock market as well as audit data provided by non-listed companies. The companies are ranked based on their total revenue, assets, and total equity, with equal weights given to each element. Four financial indicators are calculated to measure returns: rate of return on assets (ROA), rate of return on equity (ROE), rate of return on ownership, and earnings per share.
